Lia Patricia Gonzalez DDS
Originally from Colombia, Dr Gonzalez moved to the Sarasota- Bradenton area in 1999. She started her career as a dental hygienist, then earned her advanced degree Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Florida in 2004. After working in a very respectable private practice in Sarasota she teamed up with her husband Dr Juan Mesia and started her own practice. (Lockwood Commons Dental Care). Dr Gonzalez has a reputation of helping patients achieve their dental goals in a compassionate and personalized way. She constantly seeks the latest and best methods and techniques through continued education.
After hours Dr Gonzalez likes to spend quality time with her husband and her sons, Daniel and Tommy. She actively participates in her kids after school activities like boy scouts and Taekwondo.

Dr. Juan Mesia
Dr. Mesia is originally from Peru. He earned his Doctorate degree in Dental Surgery from the University of Florida in 2006. Along with his formal education, Dr. Mesia will focus on continuing education through advanced courses on new dental technologies and techniques to better serve his patients. Dr. Mesia is passionate about his profession. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Florida Dental Association.
Dr. Mesia hobbies are fishing and spending time with his wife and sons, Daniel and Tommy.
He currently owns an office in Sarasota called Centergate Family Dentistry. He has teamed up with his wife Dr. L. Patricia Gonzalez and opened a second location in the Bradenton area. Their mission is “to understand each patients’ dental needs on an individual basis and provide them personalized care that meets their dental needs and exceeds their expectations.” The goal of this couple as dentists is “to provide patients with a great dental experience in a painless and professional way.” It is very important to them that their patients are as comfortable as possible during their dental treatment.
Dental Hygienist: Marlene is a Licensed Certified Registered Dental Hygienist (CRDH). She graduated as an honors recipient from State College of Florida. She received the Lawton Chiles Award for outstanding clinical excellence as well the Colgate Star Award for commitment to learning, excellent patient relationship skills, professional demeanor and communication skills.
Marlene currently hold a professional membership with the American Dental Hygienists Association (ADHA). Before initiating her professional career as a Dental Hygienist Marlene joined the Army Branch of the Military Service in June 2009 and is currently still serving in the Army Reserve. She holds additional skills, such as being bilingual and being certified to use local anesthesia. Marlene believes in respect, compassion and hospitality in order to create a caring environment where our patients feel comfortable and under professional care.
Every successful operation needs a go-to person to keep things in order and running smooth. At Lockwood Commons Dental Care that job belongs to the office manager Nicole Miller. Nicole has been with the office since the grand opening last January, starting out as a dental assistant and front office assistant, and moved up to the front office full time as office manager in July. She is well versed in all aspects of dental operations including dental assisting, accounting and management.

“I love my work and helping people. There is no better feeling than being able to give a patient their smile back. The experiences I have had in the dental field over the past five years has taught me so much as a person, as well as in the field of dentistry.”
Nicole moved here from Newfoundland, Canada in 2009, and has resided in Bradenton for the past 6 years. She has been in the field of dentistry for 5 years, graduating from Smile Smart Dental Assisting School. Nicole loves working with patients and enjoys helping people. Patients love her outgoing, caring and compassionate personality. When Nicole is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband, friends and family. She loves children and had her first child in January 2016. Nicole also enjoys traveling, being outdoors (especially on the water), and exploring nature.
